About Dr Shruti Chandak

Reproductive health is not one event but a series of chapters, and each one raises new questions. Dr Chandak's practice is built around continuity: getting to know a woman over time, so that care in pregnancy, after birth or at menopause builds on everything that came before.

She believes that no question is too small or too awkward. Many women delay a gynaecology visit because they are unsure whether their symptoms are "serious enough" — her consultations are designed to make that first step easy, private and unhurried.

As part of the Narika team, Dr Chandak works closely with our physiotherapist on pregnancy and postnatal recovery, with our dietician on nutrition for each life stage, and with our psychologist when mood and mental health are part of the picture.

Questions patients ask Dr Shruti

At what age should a girl first see a gynaecologist?

Many gynaecologists suggest a first, conversation-only visit in the early-to-mid teens — sooner if periods are very painful, very heavy, very irregular, or haven't started by 15. A first visit rarely involves an internal examination. Dr Chandak sees teenagers with a parent or on their own, whichever is more comfortable.

How often do I need a cervical screening (Pap smear or HPV) test?

Most women aged roughly 25 to 65 need regular cervical screening — usually every three to five years depending on which test is used and your previous results. Dr Chandak will recommend the right test and interval for your age and history.

Can I bring my partner or mother to my appointment?

Yes. You are welcome to bring someone with you, and you can also ask to speak to Dr Chandak privately for part of the consultation.

Do I need a referral to book?

No. You can book directly by phone, WhatsApp or the enquiry form on this website.
